About me

Hello, I'm Germain! 

Born in 1982, living in Meerssen (South Limburg, the Netherlands).

In 2014/2015  I was inspired by a group of photographers with whom I, then still in front of the lens, got to work together for a great project. When I saw how and what they all did to make the perfect picture, all I thought was WOW, I WANT THIS TOO!! Only then I had never held an SLR camera in my hands.

So let alone that I could make images like they did. So at that moment I decided to get started with my other half's camera. This was hardly ever used then, so that was handy. I also registered for a photography course at Kumulus in Maastricht. From that moment on my adventure as a photographer started and I have been capturing images passionately ever since.

This was what I was looking for to be able to express my creativity. But also wanted to transfer the feeling, the fun and the self-confidence that I got from that pleasant collaboration that started it all. Because this really adds so much to the end result. 

 

In addition to the courses I continued to follow, I also use the internet, especially YouTube. This resulted in many hours of applying everything I had seen, read and learned. With enough moments where frustration almost got the better of me. 

Despite that, I didn't give up and it became clear that portrait photography gave me the space to express my creativity. I started makingself-portraitsWhich is something I still do regularly. Especially creating visual material that is slightly different. That comes back strongly in myfree work. 

 

Making it one of beautifulportraitmakes me just as enthusiastic and I get the energy from the fact that I can surprise people with the creation of my work.

In 2019 I took the plunge and registered myself as a photographer at the Chamber of Commerce.

Since then, my goal and mission have been to help othersentrepreneurshelp them increase their online visibility. Ultimately, we all want to be successful as entrepreneurs, at least that's what I assume. 

And if I can help create images that contribute to that, I'm happy to do so. 

I do this by immersing myself and really listening to my client, putting them at ease and, if necessary, boosting their self-confidence. Which then has a positive effect on the result, but also the collaboration.
